A Bootcamp was organized for 3 days. During 3 days long event core team, members of DSDL and some new interested students learnt a lot of things about git and Github. The strength of students was excellent (attendance list is attached below).
This intense training session was designed for students who want to get started working with Git and Github. Following the step-by-step approach, students not only learnt the commands for efficient code management but also understood fundamental concepts behind version control systems following Git architecture. The impetus of this session assumed that an individual knew nothing about Git and needed to start step by step explanation with theory and commands in the sequential flow.

Day 1: (16th Nov 2021)
· Learnt to Build Rock Solid Foundation in Git and related concepts.
· Learnt Git installation on multiple platforms
· Learnt basic file management in a git bash environment.
· Learnt how to Configure git repository in 3 ways
· Learnt how to modify, add, and commit artifacts.
Day 2: (17th Nov 2021)
· Learnt how to inspect the Git repository using status and checks.
· Learnt Git branching basics.
· Learnt to push commits to remote repository.
Day 3: (18th Nov 2021)
Branches
· Introduced to Branches
· The Master Branch(Or Main Branch)
· Learnt to View all Branches with Git Branch
· Learnt to Create and Switching Branches
· Learnt to Delete and Rename the Branches
Fetching and Pulling
· Learnt to Work with Remotes Branches
· Learnt about the Basics concepts of git pull.
· Learnt about concepts of Git Pull and Merge Conflict
· Forking and Cloning
After successful completion of the session one shall have hands-on experience working with Git and Github and will be able to use Version Control for various projects.
Students can participate in an open-source project hosted in Github where one can collaborate with other students ,where one can apply everything learned in this session.
